My wedding reception is outdoors, do you have any recommendations?
Our buttercream icing is stable enough to stand up to heat, however, we recommend for outdoor wedding to have cakes covered in fondant. The fondant will not melt or attract insects as much as a buttercream cake. Also, selected fillings such as whipping cream or cream cheese should be avoided as well.
Back to topI would like to use real fabric ribbon on my cake. Do you supply the ribbon?
From past experience, we recommend that the bride selects the ribbon so that the color matches the wedding color scheme. We can provide you with how much ribbon needs to be purchased for your cake.
Back to topI’m on a tight budget, what do you recommend?
For the budget savvy bride, we offer sheet cakes and cupcakes that are cheaper than purchasing a large wedding cake. We will be happy to work with your budget to provide the best possible presentation at an affordable price.
Back to topI have a family member with a nut allergy, do you offer nut free cakes?
Our cakes and icings are made in a facility that uses nuts and oils from nuts. We can not guarantee that our cakes are nut free and therefore we refrain from making cakes for those with allergies.
Back to topI want to use a topper for the cake, do you supply that or do I purchase it myself?
You are responsible for purchasing a cake topper. There are plenty of vendors we can recommend to purchase your topper from. The cake topper can either be left at the reception site with instructions to leave it on the cake table. In the past, brides have also mailed their toppers directly to us.

Back to topI do not have a cake plate for my wedding, do you have ones we can borrow?
Yes, we have a beautiful silver cake plates for you to use to display your cake. These cake plates not only look great, but they also provide added height to your cake. Cake plates require a $150.00 security deposit which is refunded when the plate is returned undamaged.
Back to topMy wedding is out of the area, how far do you deliver cakes?
Availability for out of the area deliveries is dependent on how many weddings we have that weekend and how far the reception site is located. In general, the farthest we deliver is within a one and half hour radius from Raleigh.
Back to topI would like fresh flowers on my cake, do you supply the flowers?
All flowers would be supplied by your florist. They can properly select non toxic flowers for the cake that would compliment your floral arrangements. We prefer to place the flowers on the cake, but your florist can do that as well. We do not charge for flower placement.
Back to topI am getting married on a Sunday, do you deliver cakes on Sundays?
Availability for Sunday weddings are evaluated on an individual basis.
Back to topWhat is the difference between fondant and buttercream icing?
Fondant is a pliable icing that is rolled out like dough and then used to cover the cake. This icing has a chewy texture and a mellow flavor. The brand of fondant we use tastes like marshmallow. Most bridal magazines feature cakes covered in this icing. It is also a popular icing for European wedding cakes.
Buttercream is a soft, creamy icing that is very sweet. Cakes that are purchased from grocery stores are covered with buttercream icing. Chances are the birthday cakes you had growing up were covered with buttercream. This icing is popular for American wedding cakes since many people prefer the taste of buttercream over fondant.
