All Quiet On The Bakery Front
January seems to be the time to go into hibernation mode with respect to baking cakes. Not many people want to get married in the dead of winter which gives us time to set up consultations for the upcoming year as well as to do other things outside of baking like networking, marketing, and in general doing things that we don’t normally have time to do during the rest of the year. In the past couple of weeks I have met with some other bakers in the area just to build business relationships and to just get out of the kitchen! We met with Sally from Cake Dreams in Cary, NC. I taught Sally’s son a couple of years ago and so it was good to meet another baker in Cary as well as to see how a former student of mine was doing in “the real world.” We also met with Amy and Chris at Cupcake Envy in Wake Forest, NC. Their cupcakes are phenomenal and I just love looking at all of the creative things they have down in the realm of single serving deserts. You can check at their businesses at http://www.cupcakeenvy.com and http://www.cakedreamsbysally.com.
